Conosciamo il poema incompiuto Erodiade, di Mallarmé (1866). La bella Salomè, dopo aver danzato con la testa di San Giovanni Battista, sentirebbe una grande amarezza, nella propria solitudine. E’ il momento che preparerà forse alla catarsi. Sull’anima di Salomè veglierebbe “oscuramente” il padre, tradito ed abbandonato dal fratello. Lei vivrebbe sotto una luce “strana”, accesa d’un rosso aurorale, che però (paradossalmente) le tramonterebbe nel cuore. Simbolicamente, vale il “peso” della rinascita, nella catarsi dai primi rimorsi. Mallarmé aggiunge che Salomé adesso potrebbe danzare solo rannicchiandosi come il cigno in acqua (con la testa nascosta dentro le piume). E’ la percezione del suo esame di coscienza. In superficie d’acqua, il corpo può solo scivolare. Nella sua fotografia, Eva Fahler indossa elegantemente un cappello rosso. Pare che questo paradossalmente tramonti come l’aurora. Il cappello ha la colorazione rossa del Sole nascente, ma peserebbe sopra il più “freddo” biancore: sia della pelle (rammentando che Eva Fahler è d’origine finlandese e svedese!), sia dei palazzi a New York, sullo sfondo. Consideriamo anche la stringa che pare “in uscita”, sulla sinistra. Essa virtualmente farebbe trottolare la visiera. Il cappello dunque “danzerà” sopra il “peso” della bellezza. Eva Fahler si porta una mano al volto, come se temesse il nostro sguardo, attratto da lei. Pare che almeno la bocca si rannicchi, “bucando” il pugno delle dita (fra il mignolo ed il pollice). Citando i versi di Mallarmé, il braccio diventerebbe il collo del cigno. La testa di Eva Fahler in effetti pare nascondersi, entro il guanto quasi “a piume” della mano.

We know the unfinished poem called Herodiade, written by Mallarmé (1866). The beautiful Salomè, after she danced with Saint John the Baptist’s head, would feel a great bitterness, in her loneliness. That’s the moment which maybe will prepare to catharsis. On Salomè’s soul, her father (betrayed and abandoned by the brother) “obscurely” would keep vigil. She would live under a “strange” light, turned on by a red in dawn, which however (paradoxically) would go beyond the horizon of her heart. Symbolically, it’s important the “weight” of rebirth, in catharsis for the first regrets. Mallarmé adds that Salomè now could dance only nestling, as the swan in water (with head hidden inside the plumage). It’s the perception of her self examination. In water surface, the body can only slide. In her photography, Eva Fahler wears elegantly a red hat. That seems would paradoxically go beyond the horizon as the dawn. The hat has a red coloration as the Sun rising, but it would weigh over the “colder” whiteness: both of skin (remembering that Eva Fahler has origin from Finland and Sweden!), and of palaces in New York, on the background. We consider also the lace which seems “in exit”, on the left. It virtually would bring the visor to spinning. So the hat will “dance” over the “weight” of beauty. Eva Fahler brings a hand to the face, as if doesn’t tolerate our look, attracted by her. It seems that almost mouth nestles, punching the fingers fist (between the pinkie and the thumb). Mentioning Mallarmé’s lines, the arm would become a neck of swan. The head of Eva Fahler really seems hidden, inside a glove almost “in plumage” of the hand.

Eva Fahler è una modella, attrice, scrittrice, attivista scandinava. Lei ha una sorella gemella, dal nome Mia, cosicché i loro “sguardi” inevitabilmente si comparano! Eva cominciò la sua carriera di scrittrice al Parlamento Europeo, interessandosi di cultura e politica. In seguito lei passò alla Reuter News Agency, di Londra, traducendo sei lingue. Come modella, Eva è rappresentata dalla MOT Agency. Lei ottenne un ruolo per il Lorraine Kelly Show – GM TV London (nel 2002), per la Maria Antonietta Regina di Francia – Pan Am Serie TV, per il film breve Baby – diretto da Yana Toyber (esibito alla Fiera Art Basel 2012). Dopo aver conseguito un master in Politiche europee, Eva è diventata un’attivista per Equity Models Union (in Inghilterra). Col suo contributo, la stessa agenzia redasse un Codice a 10 Punti per le riviste di moda britanniche (facendovi lavorare ai ritmi degli adulti solo le modelle con 16 anni d’età, o più vecchie). Eva tiene un blog personale, di moda in senso lato, denominato Fahler VS Fahler (ricordando le sorelle gemelle).

Eva Fahler is a Scandinavian model, actress, writer and activist. She has a twin sister, Mia, so their looks are inevitably compared! Eva started her writing career for the European Parliament in the fields of culture and politics. Later, writing for Reuters News Agency in London translating six languages. As a model Eva is represented by MOT Agency. She had a modelling appearance on the  Lorraine Kelly Show – GM TV London (2002), a role as Marie Antoinette, Queen of France – Pan Am TV Series (2011), and as a baby in Womb – a short film by Yana Toyber (premiered at Art Basel Miami 2012). After receiving a Masters in European Politics, Eva became an activist for Equity Models Union (in England). With her contribution, Equity wrote a 10 Point Code for British fashion magazines (limiting the age of models to 16 years or older, when modelling the adult lines). Eva has a fashion blog called Fahler VS Fahler (referring to her twin sister).

Joseph Bleu is a professional photographer, based in New York. He loves connecting with people, to create a beautiful moment, shooting someone in the preservation of own existence. Aesthetically, the style of Joseph can be described as “cinematic”, telling a story frame by frame. His images have a dreamlike perception. Joseph studied fashion design before in Paris, then in New York. He finds inspiration from paintings of Schiele, De Lempicka, Van Gogh.

Equity è un sindacato britannico, dedicato agli artisti professionisti ed ai “creativi” in genere (come nel cinema). Esso si suddivide per categorie di lavoro: attori, modelli, cantanti, sceneggiatori, coreografi, ballerini, conduttori televisivi ecc…, pure differenziandone i membri fra i professionisti ed i “soli” studenti. Le persone possono avanzare una normalissima richiesta, per affiliarsi. Come s’organizza una gestione industriale, Equity adesso è conosciuto e rispettato, addirittura a livello internazionale. Esso ha una community culturale, molto importante, che principalmente supporta gli artisti, negoziandone i termini e le condizioni, inclusi gli stipendi, in tutti i campi di lavoro (dai film attraenti, gli spettacoli educativi, le voci radio, le gesta circensi ecc…). Per esempio, attualmente i 5000 Membri Studenti di Equity possono accedere ad utili informazioni, preparando il loro lavoro, in futuro, nell’industria “del creativo”. Il sindacato ha uno staff permanente, situato a Londra. Esso è rappresentato da una selezione di persone (anche artisti), che mostrano una grande esperienza, per consigliare i professionisti “del creativo” e delle performances. Però, tutti i membri costituiscono il “cuore” di Equity, avendo la possibilità di partecipare alle decisioni in comune. Esso venne fondato nel 1930, da un gruppo d’artisti. The labour union has a permanent staff-team located in central London. Each artist category has a committee or network representing them. These representatives have considerable experience, advising Equity officers and performers. But all members are the “heart” of Equity, having the possibility to take part in common decisions. This was established in 1930, by a group of artists. Over time the union has negotiated fair payments for all members (differentiating their categories of work), while also ensuring that industry respects health and safety regulations, and the pension or insurance advantages. Eva Fahler è una fra le direttrici della Equity Models Union: la sezione dedicata alle modelle. Essa vuole rappresentare i loro diritti, migliorandone la condizione di lavoro, nella fashion industry. Per aiutare l’accesso delle modelle, è importante garantire che quelle abbiano una buona educazione ed una reale protezione (imparando a distinguere i clienti più professionali, nel campo della moda). Equity Models Union crebbe da un valore sociale. Essa ha utilmente una “Fan-Page” Facebook, la quale s’aggiorna di continuo.

Eva Fahler is one of the founding Directors for Equity Models Union Network: the section dedicated to models. She was an elected member of the Models Committee of Equity between 2011-2013. The Network represents models rights and aims to improve working conditions in the fashion industry. Directors’ responsibilities include advising models of the importance of a good education, and also recommend agents and employers. Equity Models Union grew with a social value. It has a useful Facebook “Fan-Page”, continually updated.
