Il filosofo Bachelard cita una leggenda, secondo la quale in Germania sarebbero esistiti due gemelli. Il primo di loro avrebbe aperto le porte spingendole col braccio destro, mentre l’altro le avrebbe chiuse, sempre a spinta ma col braccio sinistro. Più in generale, per Bachelard tutta la nostra vita consta di “profondità”. Si è liberi, ma sulle “spalle” del mondo esteriore. Si può aprire la profondità (ad esempio per la comunità), oppure chiuderla (anche solo in via introspettiva). Forse, le porte alle “spalle” d’una campagna danno la libertà maggiore. Là, aumenta la possibilità di scoprire (anche solo in via immaginaria). La fotografia di Ottavia è in bianconero. Lei posa in piedi, innanzi alla porta aperta sul muro probabilmente d’una villa. C’è una vegetazione da giardino esteso, con gli alti alberi. Pare che Ottavia posi al passo di danza. La gamba destra si triangola, la testa punta in alto, gli occhi si chiudono e la mano sinistra “stringe” il cuore. Ottavia comunque sta sotto la pressione della tettoia. In sinestesia, percepiamo la camicia pendolare, avendo quella la forma a campana. Il braccio sinistro sarà parecchio chiudente. Ciò varrà pure all’introspezione, simbolicamente. Il braccio destro di contro tenderebbe ad aprirsi, anche solo tramite la “leva” del ginocchio sottostante. Non è chiaro dove possa celarsi il batacchio o la maniglia del caso, tranne sul profilo del piede sinistro, complice il sandalo a rete.

Philosopher Bachelard mentions a legend, through which in Germany two twins had existed. The first of them would have opened the doors pushing those by the right arm, while the second would have closed those, always pushing but by the left arm. More in general, according to Bachelard all our life consists of some “depth”. We are free, but on “the shoulders” of an exterior world. We can open the depth (for example for a community), or we can close it (also only in the introspective way). Perhaps, the doors on the “shoulders” of a farmland give the greater freedom. There, the possibility of a discovery (also only in the imaginary way) increases. The Ottavia’s photography is in black and white. She poses standing, in front of the open door on the wall probably of a villa. There is a vegetation for a wide garden, with the high trees. It seems that Ottavia poses to step dance. The right leg is in triangulation, the head aims to the top, the eyes close themselves and the left hand “tugs” at the heart. However Ottavia is under the pressure of a projecting roof. In a synaesthesia, we perceive a pendular shirt, because this one has the shape of a bell. The left arm will be quite closing. The same situation will happen in the introspection, symbolically. The right arm on the contrary would tend to open itself, also only through the “lever” of the underlying knee. We don’t know exactly where the clapper or the handle of this case can conceal itself, except for the outline of the left foot, complicit the fishnet sandal.
