Eluard immagina che la donna viva solo per la sua forma, e proprio come lo scoglio, che resiste all’erosione del mare. I suoi muscoli saranno quelli d’un rematore… fra la sabbia, in spiaggia. Soprattutto la donna prova sempre a curare il proprio corpo, contro l’ineluttabile incedere del tempo. A lei esteticamente piacerà la grazia. Lucy è in piedi, sopra la falesia, e dove l’oceano s’infrange con imponenza. Lei allarga il braccio sinistro, come provando a “remare”… Un “rostro” della falesia, quasi all’orizzonte, ci ricorda che il legno riesce a galleggiare sull’acqua. Lucy porta vestiti che ne valorizzano la muscolosità. Forse, c’è l’accuratezza nel pettinarsi un po’ i capelli, in balia del vento.

Eluard imagines that the woman lives only for her form, and exactly like the cliff, which resists to the coastal erosion. Her muscles will be these of a rower… between the sand, on the beach. Principally a woman always tries to take care of her body, against the inescapable the passing time. Aesthetically she will like the grace. Lucy is standing, over the cliff, and where the ocean shatters in majestic way. She stretches the left arm, as if she tries to “row”… A “ram” of the cliff, almost on the horizon, remembers to us that the wood is able to float on the water. Lucy wears clothes that give value to her muscularity. Perhaps, there is the accuracy in coiffing a bit the hair, at the mercy of wind.
