Per Robert Frost, raccogliere le foglie sarebbe complicato, quando una vanga non funzionerà meglio del cucchiaio. Forse, varrà la controindicazione d’alzarle al vento, e complice la loro leggerezza. Allora, i sacchetti di raccolta tramuteranno in mongolfiere incontrollabili. Più materialmente, il loro peso (al completo riempimento) avrebbe comunque richiesto un lavoro lungo e faticoso. Lo scatto di Maria è in bianconero. Lei posa in piedi, all’aperto, nel giardino tappezzato dalle foglie secche. Pare che la borsa abbia una piega sulla faccia minore, angolabile come una “vanga”, mentre sarà più chiara una sua forma “a dirigibile”. Si percepisce poi una “scucchiaiata” di luce, dal gomito destro e rispetto all’annesso fianco (col vestito che là esibisce il “manico” snello d’una giuntura). Dietro a Maria, la siepe s’alzerà vorticosamente al muretto, come la polvere. La posa del braccio destro è molto rigida. Lo sguardo tende invece “a controllarci”, quasi con l’alone della “secchezza”.

Perhaps, the contraindication of rising them into the wind, and complicit their lightness, will be important. So, the bags for the gathering will change in uncontrollable balloons. More materially, their weight (in a complete filling) would however have requested a long and hard work. The shoot of Maria is in black and white. She poses standing, outdoors, in a garden wallpapered with the dry leaves. It seems that the bag has a fold on the smaller side, that can “be angled” like a “spade”, while its shape “at dirigible” will be more clear. Then we perceive a light which “is spooned”, by the right elbow and respect the annexed side (with the dress that there shows the thin “handle” of a juncture). Behind Maria, the hedge will rise in a whirl into a wall, like the dust. The pose of the right arm is very rigid. The gaze instead tends “to control us”, almost with the halo of a “dryness”.
