Il filosofo Francalanci ci ricorda che nell’Ottocento gli operai, i carpentieri ed i meccanici solevano fabbricarsi i loro compassi conferendo a questi la forma delle gambe femminili. Lì, ogni apertura doveva percepirsi come “libidinosa”. Nell’Ottocento, i mobili amano la decorazione “pseudo-organica” (ad esempio, a foglie o fiori). Una raffinatezza borghese, che seduceva ovviamente come la donna. Holly è seduta sul divano, accavallando le gambe. La fotografia ci mostra per la maggiore un’alta parete, anche scrostata. I due contrafforti idealmente “allargheranno” il nostro sguardo, fuori dall’inquadratura. Sarà la percezione d’una fotografia… “fatta col compasso”. Qualcosa che si punti due volte, all’incirca sui braccioli del divano (aventi tra l’altro una spirale). La parete scrostata certo non è “raffinata”. I contrafforti tenteranno di sedurci, “accavallando” l’inquadratura. Holly ha un abito decorato quasi “a foglie”.

Philosopher Francalanci remembers to us that in the 1800s workers, carpenters and mechanics used to build their compasses giving to these the shape of female legs. There, every span had to perceived as “libidinous”. In the 1800s, furniture love a decoration “pseudo-organic” (for example, with leaves or flowers). That was a bourgeois refinement, that seduced of course like a woman. Holly is sitting on the sofa, overlapping the legs. The photography shows to us principally a high wall, even scraped. Two buttresses virtually “will enlarge” our look, beyond the framing. That will be the perception of a photography… “created by compasses”. Something that plants two times, around the sofa’s arms (which have moreover a spiral). The scraped wall certainly is not “refined”. The buttresses will try to seduce us, “overlapping” the framing. Holly has a dress with a decoration almost by “leaves”.

Più precisamente, Holly di professione è un’avvocatessa. Ma posare le permette d’esprimersi al massimo della propria creatività (anche scaricando le “tensioni” del lavoro quotidiano). Holly vuole “sfidare” continuamente se stessa, cogliendo al volo le “novità” della vita. Lei ama la letteratura, la scultura e gli schizzi (che possono ispirarla nelle sue pose da modella, sempre con stile). Holly ha dunque una concezione della vita molto romantica.

The English model Holly Moriarty lives between Liverpool and Manchester. She loves both work and “play” in a way very hard (with a great seriousness). More precisely, Holly is a professional lawyer. However, posing as model allows her to express at most her creativity (even letting off the “tension” of daily work). Holly wants to “challenge” continuously herself, seizing on the “newness” of life. She loves the literature, the sculpture and sketching (which can inspire her posing as model, always with a style). So Holly has a vision of life really romantic.

Il fotografo inglese Terry Donnelly vive fra Liverpool e Manchester. Egli scatta in maniera sempre creativa, specie negli eventi sportivi o nelle commissioni commerciali. Terry è diplomato (dal 2008), e quindi membro associato (dal 2010), presso la Società Fotografica Reale. Nel 2014, egli ha esibito i suoi scatti nei circuiti sia della Federazione Internazionale Arte Fotografica, sia dell’Associazione Britannica Esposizioni Fotografiche, vincendo frequentemente il premio per il miglior autore. Terry ama tenere conferenze o workshops, specie sul ritratto, gli eventi sportivi e la postproduzione.

The English photographer Terry Donnelly lives between Liverpool and Manchester. He takes pictures in a way always creative, principally in sport events and for commercial assignments. Terry is licentiate (since 2008), and then associate member (since 2010) of the Royal Photographic Society. In 2014, his shoots were exposed in the circuits both of Federation Internationale de l’Art Photographique, and of Associateship of British Photographic Exhibitions, often winning the prize of best author. Terry loves to hold conferences or workshops, especially about portrait, sport events and postproduction.
