According to the gastronome John Thorne, the real barbecuist would perceive the sauce like “a patent” of food with a solid consistency. That is not about its moulding, but rather about its distortion. We can mention the image of a mechanic, jacking up the suspensions, adding oversized wheels, “souping up” the engine etc… So the barbecuist does not mix the ingredients of a sauce, but he “extracts” those from a “virtual… rib”. The Chiara’s photography is in black and white. She wears a tutu for dancer, and she puts the arms virtually on the bar for artistic gymnastics. The face in profile leaks a great concentration, although only in practice. The tutu has the black and white stripes. Under the bars, it seems that we recognize some tambourines, for rhythmic gymnastics. Something that functions as “elastic springboard”, even better than a case, for the “jacking up” of the left foot (which in effect has the out of focus). If there was a “grill” between the bars and the window’s pillar, so all that thing would be distorted, on the “dancing” stripes of a tutu. The left foot does not seem “liquefied” by the out of focus (because that one is reinforced inside the “rib” of an uncapped box, if we paraphrase a famous verse from the biblical Genesis). The tambourines will be perceived “gummy”, adhering with the own “patches” to the crusts of a recess. A dancer of course will show a calf very “tapered”, on a “barbecue” of the exercises. There is the “ashy” resolution of the shoot, while Chiara has a gaze “cooked” by the concentration. The left foot realistically is lifted from a case of rosin. A gymnast uses that one in non-slip function, during an exercise, when the body has to “be distorted” (almost artistically!) by the “extraction” of the limbs.
