Carducci immagina che i lampioni del viale per la stazione ferroviaria s’alternino con monotonia, avendo una luce fioca. E’ l’anticamera d’una tristezza perché la donna amata dovrà partire. Inoltre, fuori piove ed il cielo plumbeo si concluderebbe nel vapore della locomotiva, che s’avvicini alla fermata con un fischio sempre più stridulo. Carducci lamenta il caldo mese di Giugno, quando egli vedeva nella donna amata il riposo d’una fronte candida, fra i riflessi dei capelli ricci. Evgeniya è stata inquadrata passeggiando, dentro una stanza arredata. La fotografia ha in bianconero. Il pavimento della stanza ci pare bagnato. La percezione “plumbea” dell’intero scatto sarebbe favorita dalla parete, “nuvolosa” per la sua pittura. Il corpo alto e snello di Evgeniya ci ricorda quello d’un lampione, incurvato sulla “leva” dei capelli ricci. Questi potrebbero addirittura sbuffare, durante il cammino. La “locomotiva” del corpo si lascerebbe dietro la “vaporosità” della pettinatura. Più realisticamente, noi percepiamo “le lampade cupe” degli occhiali.

Carducci imagines that the lampposts of a boulevard for the railway station are alternated monotonously, having a faint light. That’s the harbinger of a sadness, because the loved woman will have to leave. Moreover, outside it’s raining and the dull gray sky would finish in the steam of a locomotive, which gets close to the stop with a whistle always more shrill. Carducci complains about the hot month of June, when he saw in the loved woman the rest of a candid forehead, between the reflections of curly hair. Evgeniya was framed walking, inside a furnished room. The photography has the black and white. The floor of the room seems wet to us. The “plumbeous” perception of the entire shoot would be favoured by the wall, “cloudy” by its painting. The tall and thin body of Evgeniya remembers to us the body of a lamppost, bent on the “lever” by curly hair. These could even puff, during the walk. The “locomotive” of the body would leave behind a “vaporous” hairdo. More realistically, we perceive “the dark lamps” of the eyes.
