Per il poeta Pessoa, l’uomo di genio vedrebbe le cose nella loro semplicità più assoluta. Egli ad esempio entrerà in una stanza, e proverà interesse per la “banalissima” maniglia. Anche là per il genio si celerà un mistero. Basta chiedersi perché esistano le diverse cose nel mondo; naturalmente questo funge da insieme maggiore per la banalissima maniglia. L’universale si percepisce nella sua semplicità. Ma bisogna meravigliarsi del mondo, per cercarne la conoscenza. La fotografia di Laurielle è in bianconero. Pare che lei si concentri, girando la maniglia d’una finestra. Le tendine quasi sarebbero state “divelte” (complice la sovraesposizione della luce). Simbolicamente, Laurielle avrà la volontà di guardare ben oltre la mera realtà. Il genio si percepisce “aspirando” la semplicità delle cose. A lui riesce la sintesi fra le “vie di fuga” dei particolari (complicati l’uno nell’altro). La fotografia di Laurielle ha più elementi “ad aspirarsi”: la finestra dal telaio “a tasti”, la tendina dalle pieghe chiaroscurali, le perline sulla “risacca” del petto.

Egli aveva studiato Media, Immagine e Comunicazioni presso il Goldsmiths College di Londra. Esteticamente, a Philipp interessa molto lavorare come colorista (così da avvinarsi al mondo del cinema).
